Class schedule

Intro to Boxing

Skill · All levels

Where everyone starts. A low-key class that introduces you to boxing and to The Corner. More teaching than working, and questions are welcome. You'll learn to wrap your hands, our warm-up, your stance, the 1 (jab) and 2 (cross), and basic footwork. You'll work hard at the end, but it won't be intense the whole hour.

Wear athletic clothes and clean shoes with smooth soles for pivoting. Bring water.

Boxing Conditioning

Training · All levels

A mix of boxing work and conditioning drills. Hit the bag, move your feet, and leave with your heart rate up.

Fundamentals of Offense

Skill · All levels

The offensive fundamentals of boxing, broken down and drilled. Great for beginners and for anyone sharpening their punches and combinations.

Fundamentals of Defense

Skill · All levels

Blocks, slips and defensive habits that keep you safe in the ring. Great for beginners, and the prerequisite for sparring.

Footwork & Core

Skill · All levels

Starts with general athletic footwork, moves into boxing footwork, and finishes with core strength.

Willpower

Training · All levels

Sixty minutes of boxing, strength and conditioning, and circuit training.

Wild Card

Training · All levels

Coach's choice. You never know what's coming at you, but you know it will involve boxing.

Breakfast Club

Training · All levels

Skill and conditioning before work. Next time you're cozy in bed on a cold Boulder morning, ask yourself whether staying there gets you any closer to your goals. 'Nuf said.

Old Broads

Senior class · Seniors

A fun, functional class that challenges senior boxers. First half: our ABCs (Adult Balance & Conditioning) in all three planes of motion. Second half: we turn up Joan Jett, lace up the gloves, smack some leather and break a sweat.

Smoke House

Skill · Advanced

Core stability, strength and endurance through dynamic movement, built around the Bulgarian Bag. It trains thoracic mobility, balance and total-body power, and it's easy to learn but hard to master.

Attend one month of classes before joining Smoke House.

Defensive Strategies & Sparring

Skill · Advanced

Slips, rolls, blocks and catches, and how to turn that defense into offense. You'll drill with a partner, so you need to know your hooks and uppercuts. Contact sparring is limited to athletes who meet the requirements. Anyone can watch.

One month of training or Coach Carrie's permission, plus USA Boxing athlete registration.

"Boxing has shown me amazing things. I have seen the stars in the daytime. I dropped my hands in the ring and I got hit. So do not drop your hands, or you will see the stars."

One of the best experiences I had was the yearly Unite to Fight program: raising money for a charity of your choice and training for your first boxing match. It's the most welcoming community, where I'm sure anyone can find their place.
