Our storysince 2014

A nonprofit boxing gym for all of Boulder. Never thrown a punch or years of competing, The Corner can help you reach your goals.

Whowe are

The Corner Boxing Club is a nonprofit that offers boxing classes and programs open to everyone in the community, at every level of experience. Along with classes, we offer personal training for anyone who wants one-on-one sessions, and every coach on our bench has the experience to take your training further.

Our general membership funds our two core programs, Rusty Gloves and Youth Development. It also puts seniors, kids and adults in the same room, building a community outside anyone's own age group. That mix cuts isolation and brings people together, and both programs put access for underserved and vulnerable neighbors first.

Ourhistory

In 2014, Carrie Barry, former captain of Team USA and 10x National Champion, founded The Corner to build a gym that welcomes every member of the community and puts diversity, inclusion and acceptance first.

The community showed up. That support let The Corner grow a nonprofit arm, Off The Ropes, focused on the people our community too often forgets. In 2018, The Corner merged with Off The Ropes and became an entirely nonprofit organization, so every resource goes to the people we serve.

Karly Lamberson, Gym Manager at The Corner Boxing Club

Karly Lamberson

Gym Manager

Born and raised in Boulder, Karly first came to The Corner through The Phoenix and quickly found her place. She started volunteering with Rusty Gloves and fell for it, so when she went full-time she made it clear she wasn't giving up her time with the Rustys.

She fought in Unite to Fight in 2024, which deepened her connection to the gym and led to her becoming gym manager. The kids call her the GOAT (when it comes to snacks, and they keep score).

The gym is so upbeat. Everyone helps each other and there is such an atmosphere of welcoming everyone, acceptance, and care for the individual and their success. This place is doing something right.
